June 4, 2018. Today you probably received your DeKalb County Annual Notice of Assessment from DeKalb County Property Appraisal Department. If you’re like most folks you are shocked by the increase in your valuation of your property, especially as it compares to 2016 property taxes. What can you do? You have 45 days after receiving this notice to submit an appeal regarding this assessment to the County Board of Tax Assessors. If you wish to file an appeal, you must do so in writing. Areas include DeKalb County properties in 30307 only, not Fulton County including Inman Park, Lake Clair, Chelsea Heights, Druid Hills, Emory, Emory Village, East Lake, Fernbank, Edgewood and Candler Park.
