Midway Woods Neighborhood

Midway Woods is a beautiful neighborhood in Decatur, GA 30030 and has over 700 homes. Although the majority of the homes are in area 30030, they are not in the “City of Decatur”. They are located in unincorporated Dekalb County and they pay much lower taxes. The homes are new construction and brick Cape Code homes built in the 1950′s and they are on beautiful tree lined streets. Midway Woods has a very strong neighborhood association without covenants and they keep all the neighbors connected and informed.

They are in the DeKalb County school district and are eligible to attend the highly regarded Museum Charter School. There are many nearby private schools such as the Waldorf School of Atlanta and The Friends School of Atlanta.

There is shopping all around the Midway Woods neighborhood. Just a mile from Downtown Decatur, residents can shop all the stores around the square. Edgewood Retail District is easily accessible as well. The DeKalb Farmers Market located on E. Ponce de Leon right outside the City of Avondale.

There are numerous areas of recreation located in Midway Woods. Dearborn park is located at the corner of Midway Woods and Deerwood Drive and has 7 acres. It also features a basketball court, multi-use court, picnic pavilions, running streams and a playground.

The homes in Midway Woods are very affordable and you can find beautiful new homes at great prices, however prices have appreciated substantially in 2013. We have had our first homes sold over $400K, though most sell for $200-$300K range. You can find a fix-upper in the high $100K or a complete gut for around $120K.
